Mulund: Old story but a new and a modern beginning. Jalaram Bappa Market one of the oldest market on RRT and SL rd Mulund is getting a new look. Market will be restructured in a 3 floor tower. At present there are 150 shops in Jalaram Bappa Market and their square feet area differs from 27 sq ft to 36 sq ft.

“IOD i.e. Intimation of Disapproval under section 346 of Mumbai Municipal Corporation Act as amended up to date is completed,” said Rajendra Kumar Jaiswal president of Jalaram Bappa Market. And shopkeepers will get shops according to their square feet area. BMC has given 36 months an estimate period to complete the construction work. Chaturbhuj Patel the builder and owner of Ankur construction will give rent to the shopkeepers rent according to their square feet area until the construction is finished. Shopkeepers will be shifted to kapis mall and BMC market (plot no 5) and other places according to their convenience.

Jalaram Bappa Market was built in 1964 by Puroshattam Das Thakkar when the population of Mulund was only 5000 people and it was a part of Thane gram panchayat. And in 1964 the price of this market was only 55,000 Rs only.
