17 AT BHANDUP MEDICINE WAREHOUSE STAFFERS & 53 JOURNOS IN MUMBAI TEST POSITIVE.

Seventeen people working at a 
medicine warehouse in Bhandup have tested positive for the novel coronavirus. There are more than 7,000 chemist shops in Mumbai that have been operating through the lockdown with a skeleton staff.

In the Bhandup case, the owner of the medicine warehouse tested positive for Covid-19 in Navi Mumbai last week. The BMC sealed the warehouse immediately and the employees were screened soon after of which 17 tested positive.
On Friday, a chemist from Dharavi tested positive for coronavirus. He was admitted at the Hinduja hospital and his family members were quarantined immediately. “On Sunday, his mother tested positive," a BMC official said. Chemist and drug associations are now contemplating stricter regulations while conducting their business.

Meanwhile 53 journalists in Mumbai tested positive for COVID19; All are under isolation. Samples of 171 journalists reporting from field,including Photographers,Video Journalists & Reporters,were collected. Most of the positive journalists were asymptomatic. The journalists are on field reporting in the lockdown a they are categorised under the essential services.
